The National Development and Reform Commission's "Tenth Five-Year Plan" national major technical equipment development project "High-tech and excellent ship key technology development special" passed the acceptance of the China Shipbuilding Corporation, China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation and the China Shipbuilding Engineering Society in Beijing.
The special research lasted for more than two years. The China Shipbuilding Corporation and China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation were the project sponsors. The China Shipbuilding Engineering Society, as the supervisory unit, organized 13 units of enterprises and institutions affiliated to the two major shipping group companies and related institutions. Participation, focusing on the development of innovative and optimized technologies for bulk carriers, the development of tanker optimization and replacement technology for oil tankers, the optimization and upgrading of container ship series, the development of large-film liquefied natural gas (LNG) ship design and construction technology, and roll-on/ Five research projects, such as the development of key technology for passenger rolling ships, have been carried out and have obtained rich scientific research results. The total funding for research and development is 320 million yuan.
The special research results have been in Type 4 bulk carriers such as 174,000 tons of bulk carriers, Type 7 tankers such as VLCC, Type 4 container ships such as 8000TEU container ships, 147,000 cubic meters of film-type LNG ships and 16,000 tons of passenger ships. It is applied on the type 3 ro-ro ship. By the end of 2005, more than 200 ships had adopted the special scientific and technological achievements, which provided strong technical support for the smooth receiving and delivery of a large number of ships. These achievements have significantly improved the ability and international competitiveness of high-tech and high value-added ships such as series of lending vessels, oil tankers, container ships, LNG ships and ro-ro ships in China, and achieved remarkable economic and social benefits.
The implementation of this special project is an important measure taken by the relevant state departments to support the development of the shipbuilding industry. The management mode under the supervision of CSSC and CSIC and the China Shipbuilding Engineering Society, the development of a combination of production, study and research has effectively ensured that the special project was successfully completed as planned.
