Sentec and EDMI team up to develop smart gas meter

Introduction: Sentec and EDMI, a provider of smart meter solutions, have partnered to develop a new smart gas meter based on Sentec's Lattice gas meter technology.

This cooperation will develop smart gas meters for the European, Australian and Asian markets, and these areas have begun to plan large-scale deployment of gas meters. The United Kingdom plans to start installing smart gas meters in 2014.

Sentec CEO Mark England said: "Our company is willing to cooperate with such high-quality meter suppliers as EDIM, and our cooperation will effectively promote the transition from ordinary gas meter to smart gas meter in the home market."

Sentec's Lattice technology is a solid state technology that can easily calculate the volume of gas flow by measuring the gas flow time between two points.
