Azbil receives LNG ship integration automation system order

Azbil Corporation of Japan recently received an order for an integrated LNG ship automation system from the Japan Maritime Joint Shipyard, which will be deployed in a US shale gas LNG project.
As part of the Cove Point project, the LNG carrier is scheduled to be used primarily to transport LNG from the United States. The LNG carrier will be powered by a triple-fuel diesel propulsion system that uses low-sulfur fuel as a fuel to comply with US coastal environmental regulations. The vessel is also equipped with an insulated tank with the lowest evaporation rate in the world. Azbil Corporation will provide its Marine-DEO integrated automation system for this vessel. The system will monitor and control the gas supply system of the diesel engine in the tank sealing system, cargo handling system and TFDE system, as well as the power supply to the electric propulsion system. Azbil Corporation will also provide engineering assistance and commissioning support for the system. This LNG carrier requires advanced control technology to safely transport LNG that has been cooled and liquefied to very low temperatures. Over the years, Azbil has supplied marine monitoring and control systems for more than 100 LNG carriers and provided onboard equipment such as instrumentation and control valves, as well as maintenance services.
