The implementation can regulate the manufacture of water meter products, the purchase and use of users, the type evaluation of water meter products, and the management of legal measurement.

These two industry standards were announced on September 10, 2015 by the China Association of Metrology Working Committee's Water Metering Committee in Shanghai. More than 100 related companies participated in the conference. The approval and implementation of standards will help promote the technical progress and development of the water meter industry.
